Good wine has been matured in the Schweigler
cellars for many years. One of our wines received its first certificate
of honor in 1886.
Since that time our family business has grown, both technologically
and in capacity. The place where we process the grapes, our cask cellar
and our wine vault, were built in 1874 and combine 19th century architecture
with modern technology. |
| During the maturation process our major objective is to develop the quality of the grapes to produce the best results possible from that vintage. We achieve this through fresh, gentle, and individual processing that results in the optimum bouquet, while at the same time preventing the growth of unhelpful microorganisms. We shape the character of the developing wines through careful
pressing, yeast management, biological fermentation methods, and
ageing in specially designed barrels and tanks.

We do not attempt to create a uniform
type of wine. Rather, we appreciate the individuality of our wines,
which are characterized by the soil, the region, and the work of our
own hands. This is the foundation of our quality philosophy.
We warmly welcome you to visit our vineyard. In our newly renovated
shop you can learn about our rich product line of still and sparkling
wine and traditional German Schnapps. You can sample our products
and satisfy yourself that they are of the highest quality. |
